G’dat – love the test exams, they’re already super helpful in getting my brain around the stress of the process, some exposure therapy is already helping to focus me on where I need to up my game (who would have thought that CASA cares that much about ammeters!)

It has raised the question in my mind about what I should be purchasing now to take into the exams and what if anything I can do to maximise my chances of success – eg: I note on teh CASA website I am allowed a certain number of “tabbed” pages, but which are the ones that are going to give me the most value based on other’s experience?

I’m primarily weighing up the benefit of printing versus buying the Part 91 plain English guides, AIP etc – would appreciate other’s thoughts.

    Hey Paul,

Nice to hear that the practice exams helping you to get your game on for the real ones – it helps to discover handy questions like the one you asked.

Are you studying for the RPL exam? Tabbing for that exam would be a bit different from PPL. In my experience for RPL tabbing was less important for RPL than PPL. I tabbed those parts in the regs that I know I’d be getting questions on. A couple of good ones were ‘fuelling requirements’ and ‘licence requirements’.

Perhaps it might be best to make a list of topics that you are struggling with, and that those now, then adjust the tabs as you see fit. You might find that you are constantly referring to one topic and it is taking you forever to find it every time.

I would strongly recommend gathering all the permitted materials to maximise your exam attempt – you never know what you might actually need. I think I have a CASR 91 PEG if you want one – let me know 🙂

    Cheers, Jonty
