JACK posted an update
Hey everyone
I’m getting ready to sit the Human Factors exam for my CPL (CASA), and I was wondering what’s the best website or resource to help me prepare? Also, what should I focus on or do to make sure I’m properly ready for the exam? Any tips or study strategies would be really appreciatedJonty-
Hey Jack,
Start with the Part 61 MOS Schedule 3 — highlight every Human Factors dot-point. That’s your exact exam syllabus, straight from CASA.
Then check out CASA’s CHUF exam page — they list the most common traps students fall into. Super handy to know what to focus on.
TEM (Threat and Error Management) is a big part of the exam, so make sure you’re confident there. CASA’s Safety Behaviours – Human Factors for Pilots kit is solid for practical, real-world examples, and if you want targeted practice, I’d recommend running through this quiz set: 👉 https://app.pilottrain.com/pt/en-au-cpl/lessons/human-factors-short-quizzes/quizzes/chuf-tem-quiz-2/
Once you’ve ticked off the MOS items, do a couple of timed mock exams. That’ll help with both pacing and confidence. Hope this helps! 🙂 -
(Oh, this is in addition to a textbook you might be studying!!)

Hi Jonty,
Thanks so much for the information you gave me, I really appreciate it. I’ll look into the Part 61 MOS Schedule 3 and TEM over the next few days. I’ve also been going through the Bob Tait book.1
