Happy Monday all! I’ve just consolidated our free video library into a new tab at the top of your screen (or bottom on the app). I will be adding many more videos in the future. Please send me a message with anything you are getting stuck with and I’ll record a new video. Cheers and have a great week!

Hi Jonty,
Have found this question about weight, the supporting statement suggests it should be CoG not centre of earth.
Regards
Wayne

Hi Wayne, absolutely – centre of gravity is correct. Will find and fix. Thank you! 😁👍

Hi,
I could be wrong, but I believe the answer to the attached question is incorrect.
This is a extract from Bob Tait web page as well. “If you read “low density altitude” replace that in your mind with “thick, more dense air” – and therefore better performance than in air with a …”

Hi Wayne, here is an extract from ATC’s BAK. I’ve also attached the summary of all the factors. I think the confusion here is the terms ‘low density altitude’ vs ‘high density’. The question does not refer to the density altitude, rather ‘high or low’ density of the air.

Quick question for anyone willing to help. for those of us who are mathematically challenged does anyone know of an app or short course where there is pilot/aviation specific math and I guess physics related practice questions? something like the Duolingo for language but related to the above?
Thanks Pat

Hey Pat, there is a new and free app that has hit the market recently – https://apps.apple.com/au/app/avmath/id6464602048
Also, ASA make a good book called “Mental Math for Pilots”
As for the physics, some of our Aerodynamics and Performance exams would be worth a try.
Hope this helps 😊

Good morning all, attached is July/Aug 2024 edition of the FAA Safety Briefing magazine – some light reading for your morning coffee. Author Rich Stowell has a story on “Beyond Rote Learning – A Principle-based Approach to Flight Training” on page 7. Have a great day!

Hey guys,
Loving the content provided on here from Jonty. I’m studying for the RPL Pexo and was told the CASA wording in their exams are very similar to Bob Tait, which i have have Vol 1 and 2 of his RPL/PPL books, about to buy the RPL exam course on here soon as im just finishing the bob tait books, my question is How similar is material on…

Hi Zane, thanks for your message! That is a great question. The exam does vary quite a bit. One sitting is usually very different to the next. I have structured the 5 exams all with varying difficulty levels to combat this. If you cover exams 1 through 5 you should get good coverage on most exam conditions you’ll likely experience. It is true…

G’day! I just completed my first PIRC practice exam. Just wondering if these exams are based on the FAA instructor’s handbook? I’m finding the language used in the exam is different to the Handbook. Or is this representative of the language used in the CASA exam? Many Thanks!
-
G’day Craig, great to hear! The questions in the exam are largely taken from the FAA manual. We launched our PMI questions over a year ago now and have been working on the last few weeks to update the database. It will be ready by the end of the week. It will include more accurate/similar exam questions. Happy to let you know when they are ready…
